The Access of Economical Analysts to the Czech News Agency and daily Press

The thesis, The Access of Economic Analysts to the Czech News Agency (CTK) and daily Press, researches the paths that analysts who provide economic news commentary utilize to access the CTK news and daily press. The thesis focuses on the impact on editors' daily routines of utilizing such sources. Further, the thesis focuses on the hierarchy of analysts' access to the news and delineates the relationship between the journalist and his sources. In the theoretical portion of the thesis, the author defines basic approaches to the study of news coverage, information sources in media contents, and organizational routines. The author presents Leon V. Sigal's three basic types of communication channels and draws on Paul Manning's source theory. In the ensuing chapters, the author discusses the rules of source selection and the relationship shifts between journalists and their sources. Further, he elucidates Jürgen Hagerman's concept of "public sphere," Antonio Gramsci's Theory of the Hegemonic Media, and Noam Chomsky's and Edward S. Herman's propaganda model. The research portion of the thesis is based on the author's in-depth interviews with eight economic analysts. The Use of Twitter by the Czech News Agency and Reuters

This Bachelor's Thesis focuses on news agencies, organizations that collect, process and provide intelligence information on domestic and foreign events to its clients (such as media), and their relationship with social media. This work aims to find out how the Czech News Agency (ČTK), the largest wire service in the Czech Republic, uses Twitter to disseminate its news outputs published on the České noviny website. This is achieved, among others, by comparison with Reuters, one of the largest and one of the world's oldest news agencies. The thesis consists of the theoretical section that provides information on Twitter and its influence on news media and journalism, describes specifics of news agencies, as well as their functioning in digital times, and the research section, which is further divided into quantitative and qualitative. Using the R programming language, the quantitative research analyses tweets of ČTK news account in selected days in comparison to Reuters' posts from the same period and general recommendations for using Twitter. French News Agency AFP-an Agency with a Special Status

The thesis titled "French News Agency AFP - the Agency with Special Statutes" deals with the world agency AFP and its public statutes. The news agency is defined on the most general base and there is described the history of the first news agency Havas which is followed by AFP. The author is also interested in foundation of AFP and its transformation into the public institution. The thesis deals with reporting tasks, financial sources, composition and competence of the inspecting authority and statutory authority of Agence France-Presse and Czech News Agency. The content of the work is comparison of agencies above. In the final chapter the author reminds the attempt to change the special statutes of AFP.
